Good evening, Your Excellencies, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, Friends and partners from the Businesses community, our very good friends from the media, ladies and gentlemen.

We are gathered here this evening on the heels of opportune times and jubilant celebrations. This evening at The Heritage Hotel we celebrate two important events.

I am sure we are all still jubilant over the victory of Philippines boxing idol … Manny Pacquiao. Yesterday our boxing idol gained another feather on his cap with the 12 rounds bashing he gave Miguel Cotto for the WBO Welterweight title. For this victory, Pacquiao clinched his seventh world championship and became the first boxer in history to win seven world titles in seven different weight divisions. Congratulations Manny Pacquiao ….. and Congratulations to all Filipinos …. Wherever you are…

It is on this festive and exuberant note that we celebrate the indomitable triumph of the human spirit.

This year, Philippine tourism was off to a good start but by midway, the H1N1 virus posed as a travel hazard for tourists and typhoon Ondoy ravaged Metro Manila. Nevertheless, I have witnessed that these sea of uncertainties were the conveyance for the strong sails of the bayanihan spirit and fortitude of the Filipinos to boldly move forward… rise after the fall… fight the good fight…. and turn things around.

The Yuletide season allows us to focus our perspective and see the glory of the human spirit soaring high and gathering wind from the will to win, the assistance of friends and other pivotal elements to be thankful for.

We extend our gratitude for all our supporters who have been with us through thick and thin, gratitude for the dedication of our staff, gratitude for good business, gratitude for the many blessings shared with colleagues, associates and loved ones… We are also grateful for the joys that Christmas brings.…

Every Christmas season, we cast a magical spell all over the Hotel and transform it into a fantasy world for children. In the past, we have featured the ‘Under the sea adventures of Pinnochio’ and ‘The train station to North Pole’. At this juncture, I must recognize the creative talent of my MACOM Team lead by our Marketing Communication Manager Mina Gervacio and her very artistic team lead by Armin Salvio, Lucio Santos and Aldrin Umali. Thank you all for this beautiful Festive decorations.

HERITAGE HOTEL USHERS THE HOLIDAYS WITH CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING AND UNVEILING OF ITS TOWER OF LONDON YULETIDE MOTIF

The singular sensation of the Heritage Hotel’s mighty gargantuan Christmas tree radiated an iridescent light across the Manila Bay area and heralded the beginning of the yuletide season during the symbolic lighting ceremony and unveiling of the Hotel’s Tower of London motif at its grandiose lobby.

The Heritage Hotel’s General Manager Mr. Eddie Yeo together with special guest H.E. Prof. Irzan Tandjung, Ambassador, Indonesian Embassy among elite circle of socialites and media personalities led the lighting up of the gigantic Christmas tree as angelic voices of the Children’s Joy Foundation filled the air with upbeat and meaningful Christmas melodies.  
 
“While we light the Heritage Hotel’s Christmas tree, we wish to set ablaze the flame in our guests’ hearts to propagate peace, harmony, happiness, hope, love and abundance to others…Being part of the Millennium and Copthorne Hotels and Resorts with more than 120 properties worldwide, the Heritage Hotel Manila drew inspiration from its London home-base’s UNESCO World Heritage Site i.e. the Tower of London as our Christmas theme,” Mr. Yeo stated. 

Every Christmas season, the Heritage Hotel transforms its Lobby into a fantasy world for children. Previously, the Hotel has featured the ‘Under the sea adventures of Pinnochio’ and ‘The Express Train to Santa’s North Pole’.

The elaborate Yuletide décor is not complete without the Hotel’s Musical Wishing Well which serves as the instrument of the Hotel’s fund-raising drive for the benefit of ‘Our Lady of Sorrows Foundation’, a non-government organization focused on out-reach programs for indigent communities in Pasay City.
