The Heritage Hotel Manila Appoints New Resident Manager





Millennium Hotels and Resorts Managed The Heritage Hotel Manila is pleased to announce the appointment of Lawrence Wee as the Hotel’s new Resident Manager. Mr. Wee’s most recent appointment prior to joining Heritage Hotel Manila was at Madoogali Resort and Spa, Maldives, Best Western’s Premier and Luxury property where he served as the Interim General Manager in charge of its extensive remodeling and refurbishment to meet the Hotel’s meticulous product standards along with the overhaul of its services inclusive of additional 27 or more services/amenities above and beyond the minimum standards.


In his new role, Mr. Wee will oversee all managerial aspects of operational functions of the Hotel, and will assist the Hotel’s General Manager in the implementation of business strategies and to enhance the profitability of the hotel property..

A Singaporean national, Mr. Wee brings with him over 35 years of extensive operational and hotel management experience through his varied international postings throughout Southeast Asia particularly in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore.

Mr. Wee’s extensive career include opening a new luxury property as Director of Rooms for a Fairmont Raffles International Hotel in Bangkok where he played a crucial part in yield management, forecasting and budgeting, cost management, financial analysis and planning, and development of the hotel’s strategies and objectives for rooms and F&B outlets with new concept dining experience in order to secure high occupancy and guest loyalty at minimal operational cost.

He was previously part of the pre-opening team of The Lien Westlake Resort, Hanoi and Mayang Sari Beach Resort, Bintan Island and took a pivotal position at the Swiss-Belhotel in the same capacity of Rooms Division Manager. For these stints, he developed operation functions to a high level of efficiency and set high service standards to generate high levels of productivity and competency amongst staff and maximize sales and revenues.

Much earlier in his career, Mr. Wee was the Front Office Manager for various 5-star Deluxe properties in Singapore namely Marina Meritus Hotel, Imperial Hotel and Meritus Mandarin Hotel among many others. In these previous functions, he led a team of professionals to spur excellence in customer service.
