Earth Hour Goes Beyond the Hour

On its 4th year, Earth Hour 2011 is slated to take place on Saturday 26 March 2011 at 8.30pm to 9.30pm. In unity with the global community, the Heritage Hotel Manila once more heeds the call to get involved and lead the steps towards a sustainable future.

This year’s challenge goes beyond the hour and dares each individual, community and business to rethink practices and contribute ways to reduce our carbon footprints, conserve energy and preserve the ecosystem in order to help curb global warming and climate change.

SWITCH OFF CEREMONY

The Hotel will turn off prominent lights and signage at the Hotel’s façade. The Hotel will switch off other lights at the ground floor. Alternative lighting such battery-operated lights will be used in the Hotel’s Lobby area, Lobby Lounge and Riviera Café.

EARTH HOUR CAKE CUTTING CEREMONY

Bring loved ones and family members to dine amid the cozy and romantic ambiance of the Riviera Café. Join and partake of the special Earth Hour Cake as our Executive Chef Alex Chong together with Environmental Advocates and other Hotel Officers spearheads the cake-cutting ceremony. 

THINK RE-USE, REDUCE & RECYCLE

The Heritage Hotel Manila is running a waste segregation system to ensure that biodegradable materials are properly disposed of and items for recycling are appropriately handled. In one’s own terms, reflect on ways to help save the planet which can be easily adopted within one’s lifestyle. 

LIGHTS OFF IN THE ROOM

For guests opting to stay in the room, please use the flashlights provided for in each of the hotel’s guest rooms for your convenience. On the other hand, please avoid using candles for protection and avoidance of untoward incidents.

2011 EARTH HOUR PHILIPPINES MAIN EVENT AT THE SM MALL OF ASIA GLOBE AREA

To participate in the revelry for the main switch-off event and acoustic concert joined by the who’s who in the business & entertainment circle, visit the nearby SM Mall of Asia Globe area from 6pm onwards.  The event also serves as a kick-off for a planned year-long climate change solutions campaign.
